An online gallery of the creative work of three generations of the Cooper family from the North West of England.

On this website you will find over 2500 photographs of British railways from 1932 to the 1960's taken mainly by WD Cooper, but including some images taken by his brother DS Cooper.

Also featured are over 200 gouache paintings of buses, trams, trolleybuses, commercial vehicles and railway scenes painted by GS 'Sid' Cooper. This is just a small representation of the life's work of one of the UK's leading transport artists.

Finally, there are some examples of artwork produced by myself, DP Cooper.

Most of the images shown on this site are available as prints, or for reproduction in books, calendars, greetings cards etc. The WD Cooper collection photographs are also available as 'rights managed' stock images.

Great Western Hotel, Paignton, Torbay, South Devon.
A charming elegant Victorian villa delightfully situated in the heart of Agatha Christie country at the harbour end of Paignton with one of the finest collections of model railways, steam engines, ships and vintage toys to be found anywhere.

The Great Western is a privately owned detached hotel and can only be described as one of the finest of its size in Paignton. It is our contention that few others equal it in any aspect of hotel, catering and hospitality. Our aim is to provide for our guests, a friendly and personal service, they prove we achieve this by returning year after year.

Manchester Museum of Transport
Houses a collection of vehicles from 1890 to 1990 with an extensive archive and library. The museum is also the home of two preserved Yelloway coaches plus many more North West vehicles.
