There
was a display of 1960s buses at the Bury Transport Museum
including the newly arrived, beautifully restored Rochdale
Corporation Regent lll No. 235, HDK 835.
In addition to Bertie the Bus, out for Thomas event, there was a
rare opportunity to see the 3 "Rochdale" vehicles on display at
the Bury Transport Museum on Saturday afternoon. The Rochdale
Corporation Bus operated in Rochdale, Bury and Manchester
between 1951 and 1969 and the Yelloway and Ellen smith Coaches
operated nationwide from their Rochdale bases in the 1960s to
1980s.
ALSO, a photo shot was planned for Bury Museum on Saturday pm 3
August when Ellen Smith Grenadier CDK 448 C arrives for an
overnight stay prior to the Trans Pennine Rally on Sunday 4
August. The Yelloway Museum may also appear with Ellen Smith
Grenadier at Birch Services on 4 Aug and run through to Rochdale
town Centre with the parade. |
