Foden's of Sandbach, Cheshire - 1951 Foden PVRF6
OLG 855

A Brief History

This vehicle was built by Foden's of Sandbach, Cheshire for the transportation of the famous Foden's Motor Works Band. It performed this duty until 1979 when it was replaced by a purpose built vehicle (again by Foden). The vehicle was put "out to grass" (literally) at the factory until bought by an enthusiast who stored it under cover for some years before being bought by the present owner. There then followed a major restoration which included virtually re-framing the body and having the original seat moquette re-woven.

Grey Cars - 1962 AEC Reliance
960 HTT

A Brief History

This coach carries the rare Willowbrook Viscount bodywork featuring an inward sloping rear window similar to the Ford Anglia 105E of the same era. Built to 7'6" wide for touring Dartmoor and Exmoor but used to duplicate YellowaY services on Summer Saturdays. The low gearing required for the moors results in a top speed in the low forties which must have made timekeeping difficult on long distance express operations.
